Elizabeth Newberry

Betsy is a Senior Managing Director at Carret. She also serves on the firm's Executive Committee and Equity Investment Policy Committee. She has over 35 years of experience in the investment management industry. At Carret, she serves as a portfolio manager of equity and balanced portfolios for individuals, families, trusts, and endowments. She began her career in Washington, DC at First American Bank and then as a Portfolio Manager at Zirkin-Cutler Investments before relocating to New York. Prior to joining Carret in 2002, she was a Portfolio Manager at Manchester Capital Corp in New York, NY.

Education / Affiliations:

Betsy is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society New York. She earned a BS in Finance from The American University and an MBA from The George Washington University. Betsy attended American Banker’s Association Trust and Estates training at Northwestern University which is called on regularly in our work on Trust and Estate relationships.

Outside Carret:

Betsy enjoys skiing and traveling with her family as well as swimming and running.
